There was no catching Gus Simpson on Saturday night at Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway.

The Gainesville, Georgia racer led wire-to-wire in a caution free Limited Late Model feature to score the victory at the ¼-mile clay raceway.

Starting on the outside of the front row, Simpson jumped to the early lead, with Chris Woods and Rod Roberts in pursuit.

On lap 2, Woods got as close as anyone would all night to Simpson, as he closed on the leaders back bumper, and got a run to the outside of Simpson in turn 3. But Woods’ car slid wide in turn 4, allowing Simpson to get away and also letting Roberts move to second.

Meanwhile, Simpson pulled out to a wide advantage, and held it the rest of the way. When he crossed under the finish line, Simpson had almost a four second margin of victory over the field.

Roberts finished in second, with Woods in third, and Ken Lampp in fourth

In other action, Cade Cagle scored the Hobby 602 feature victory over Chris Woods in second, with Clay Fancer in third, James Cason in fourth, and Jackson Wages in fifth.

Jordan Poole took the checkered flag ahead of Jennifer Everett to win the Modified Street feature. Jimmy Johnson finished third, with John Anderson fourth, and Stanley Hill fifth.

Arti Ridgeway recorded the victory in an attrition strewn Stock V8 feature. Wayne Griggs, T.J. Edwards, Stephen House, and Trey Pilgrim rounded out the top five.

P.J. Taylor crossed the finish line ahead of Justin Taylor for the win in the Stock 4A feature, with Allen Cantrell in third, Joseph Dyer in fourth, and Scott Cox in fifth.

The Stock 4B feature was also a high attrition race, with Mason Peppers taking home the victory over Jerry Atkinson. Shawn McEntire followed in third, with Calvin Todd in fourth, and Gerald Silvious in fifth.

William Earnest was the winner in the Front Wheel Drive feature, with Kelly Cox and Wesley Collins rounding out the podium.
