Derek Hagar Sweeps USCS Sprint Car Race Weekend

Derek Hagar doubled up in USCS Sprint Car Series action over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

The Marion, Arkansas speedster opened the weekend with a Friday night win at Lexington 104 Speedway in Lexington, Tennessee, and closed it with a victory at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas on Saturday night.

On Friday, Hagar edged Dale Howard to win at Lexington 104 Speedway. Hagar took the lead from his outside front row starting position, and crossed under the checkered flag of the 30-lap feature with a .477 second margin of victory.

Howard finished in second, with Ryan Harrison in third, Carson Short in fourth, and Terry Gray in fifth.

Howard, Harrison, and Terry Witherspoon won their respective heat races, with Howard also winning the speed dash.

On Saturday, Hagar swept the weekend by winning at Riverside International Speedway after starting seventh on the night.

Koty Adams, Terry Gray, Brad Bowden, and Marshall Skinner rounded out the top five.

Lance Moss,. Tucker Boulton, Adams, and Landon Crawley won their respective heat races, with Skinner winning the speed dash.

The USCS Sprint Car Series hits the track next on Thursday, June 1 at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama, before moving to Mississippi’s Hattiesburg Speedway on Friday, June 2. The race weekend wraps up on Saturday, June 3 at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi.
