Try as they might, NASCAR could not win out against Mother Nature on Saturday afternoon.

Wet weather has postponed Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway to Monday at noon.

The event was scheduled to roll off just after noon on Saturday, but the rains rolled in over the 1.5-mile raceway. After studying the forecast for the remainder of the day, NASCAR officials made the call to postpone the event.

Qualifying for the NXS race was run on Friday, with Justin Allgaier scoring the pole. He will lead the field to the green flag once the race begins, with John Hunter Nemechek starting alongside in second. NASCAR Cup Series regular Ty Gibbs will roll off from third, with Cole Custer in fourth, and Atlanta, Georgia’s Brandon Jones in fifth.

Kyle Busch, Sheldon Creed, Sam Mayer, Jeb Burton, and Talking Rock, Georgia’s Chandler Smith rounds out the top 10 starters.
