Rain And Cold Washes Out Easter Weekend Racing Plans

While several race tracks and racing series had Easter Weekend racing plans, Mother Nature had her own agenda over the holiday weekend.

Wet, chilly, windy weather washed out racing around the region, as the area was pelted with rain on Friday and most of the day on Saturday.

Georgia’s Toccoa Raceway hoped to hold their season opener on Saturday night, along with an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Those plans were delayed by the weather until Saturday, April 15. For additional information, visit ToccoaRaceway.org.

It was a similar story for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series, who had planned to get the 2023 race season underway on Saturday at Lake View Motor Speedway in Nichols, South Carolina, only to see the rain postpone the event to a later date. The series will take another shot at getting the season started this Saturday, April 15 at Indiana’s Paragon Speedway. Check https://www.ultimatesupers.com for more details.

Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway held out until Saturday morning, hoping for a break in the weather, but it didn’t work out. The ¼-mile dirt raceway looks to return to action on Saturday, April 15. Visit WinderBarrowSpeedway.com for updates.

Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, South Carolina was set to host the season opener for the Southeast Super Trucks Series, only to see it postponed due to the inclement weather. Anderson Motor Speedway is next scheduled to run on Friday, April 21 with local division action. Visit AndersonMotorSpeedway.com for more information. The Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Series was scheduled to compete at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia and at Tennessee’s Tazewell Speedway over the weekend, but made the call to not run due to the weather.
