Chris Ferguson took the checkered flag first in Saturday night’s Ultimate Super Late Model Series race at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia.

But it’s Russell Erwin who will go down as the winner of the $20,000 USA 100 after series officials announced on Tuesday that Ferguson was disqualified.

Ferguson was disqualified from the event because he used a tire that didn’t comply with the series event rules set out for Saturday night’s race.

Series officials consulted with Hoosier Tire Representatives before making the call

Erwin, who hails from Beaverdam, Virginia, was then declared the winner of the event.

In the updated final rundown, Gregg Satterlee was second, with Zack Mitchell third, Kyle Hardy fourth, and Jamie Lathroum.

Jason Covert, Doug Sanders, Dale Hollidge, Trevor Collins, and Brian Ledbetter rounded out the updated top 10.

The next event currently scheduled for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series is set for August 13 at Lake View Motor Speedway in Nichols, South Carolina. For more information, visit UltimateSupers.com.
