Justin Shipley waited out the heat, the humidity and the rain on Saturday night to snap a three year drought with a win in the Limited Late Model feature at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia.
The Douglasville, Georgia speedster edged out Jason Croft, who looked to be gaining ground near the end. But Croft ran out of laps, and had to settle for a second place finish.
Gary McPherson came home in third, with Pete Cochran in fourth, and Buster Goss in fifth.
In other action, Dale Thurman took the point in the Steelhead Late Model feature, and went on to record the victory over Jacques Daniel in second. Phillip Deal followed in third, with Tom Watson in fourth, and Jimmy Price in fifth.
Jeff Smith snapped his own winless streak on Saturday night, as he scored his first win in five years in the Crate Late Model division. Luther Jenkins, Devin Stuart, Justin Hammett, and Landon Gentry rounded out the top five.
Jonathan Martin came out on top of the 602 Sportsman race holding off Zach Pilcher for the victory. Tate Nichelson finished third, with Jake Rains fourth, and Tucker Anderson fifth.
Jeremy Williams continued his stranglehold on victory lane in the Economy Bomber division with his seventh win of the year. Andrew Findley finished in second, with Billy Dean in third, Tyler Garrett in fourth, and Brian Dempsey in fifth.
Don Jenkins took top honors in the Open Wheel Modified feature. David Burtz followed in second, holding off Gary McPherson in third. Seth Lacey finished fourth, with Dan Ferguson fifth.
Rick Ricks started in the rear of the Street Stingers field, and worked his way to the front to score the win over David Pope. Jason Young came home in third, with Matt Yost in fourth and Allen Jones in fifth.
