Ross Bailes dominated Saturday night’s Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series visit to Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia.

Bailes, from Clover, South Carolina, started on the pole, and then outran fellow front row starter Steven Roberts on the drop of the green flag. From there, Bailes was never seriously challenged in the 53-lap feature as he went on to score his second career series win and the $10,053 top prize.

“The whole time out there I thought I was feeling the right-rear (tire) go down,” said Bailes. “I was just worried the whole time. I was paranoid really. It was unheard of how many flat tires we had on this deal last year. It started off the exact same way at Beckley (in the series opener) and I was like, ‘You have got to be kidding me.’ But it worked out for us tonight. I hope we’ve broken the curse.”

Roberts, of Jesup, Georgia, finished in second, some 1.524 seconds behind Bailes. Wil Herrington followed in third, with Colbert, Georgia’s Kenny Collins in fourth and Cody Overton in fifth.

Dale McDowell, Michael Brown, Jordy Nipper, Cla Knight, and Dalton Cook rounded out the top 10.
