On a night that saw several drivers from out of state pick up feature wins a Georgia driver picked up his first Thursday Thunder victory in a Legends car at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Canton, Georgia racer Michael Gannon started the WJP Investments Young Lions feature first by virtue of a three-car invert. Gannon took advantage of the track position to lead flag-to-flag to claim his first Thursday Thunder victory in a Legends car.

“We got the invert and just drove through it. The car was a little tight but we worked through it,” Gannon said. “I need to protect my inside a bit more on the starts. My spotter was telling me they were looking to my inside so that’s something I’ll need to work on.”

Round 3 of action on the Thunder Ring began with Carson Brown taking the checkered flag in the Rookie Bandoleros feature. In the Chargers feature that followed, Tyler Garretson followed suit, and Tristan McKee picked up his third win of the season in the Bandits division.

In other feature action, Cale Hall picked up his first win in The Associates Group Pro division feature. Jason Treschl took the victory in the Semi-Pro feature while Bill Plemons, Jr. continued his domination of the Masters division with his third win of the season. Kelly Puckett topped the Outlaws division feature.

Thursday Thunder action was scheduled for Thursday night as well, but Mother Nature won out as rains washed out the race night.
