It’s said that age is just a frame of mind. Just ask Jody Blalock, Sr.

Blalock, who is 72-years-old, drove the oldest car at the track – a 1949 Hudson – to the Pro division win in Saturday’s King Of The Track race at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia.

The Commerce native defeated Steve Wagner from nearby Jefferson Georgia in the final when Wagner left too soon to trigger a red light.

Blalock dialed in a 6.76 and ran a 6.863 ET at 101.67 MPH and a 0.004 reaction. Wagner dialed in a 6.37 and ran a 9.115 ET after seeing the red light at only 58.42 MPH and a -0.016 reaction.

The win is the third of the season for Blalock.

Other winners on the day included Don Brown, Jr. in Super Pro, Mel Abney in Sportsman, Jayton Duggar in JR Street, Eric Browning in Super Pro Bike, Aaron Kennedy in 5-9 JR Dragster, Malachi Edwards in 10-12 JR Dragster and Raul Rodriguez, Jr. in 13-17 JR Dragster.
