Zeke Shell and Nik Williams split Friday night’s twin NASCAR Whelen All-American Series twin Late Model Stock Car features at Tennessee’s Kingsport Speedway.

The top four in qualifying dropped down into the 14-second range, with Shell fastest at 14.940, followed by Hayden Woods (14.966), Williams (14.973), and Kres VanDyke (14.979).

In the first 35-lap feature, Shell took the lead at the start over Woods, VanDyke, Williams and Robbie Ferguson. With Shell and Woods running in single file out front, VanDyke was feeling pressure from Williams each lap trying to get around him for the third spot.

Williams finally completed the pass on lap 17, as he got to the inside of VanDyke between turns one and two and forced him high up the track, which also opened the door for Ferguson to slip by VanDyke into fourth place.

With Shell on the point leading Woods, Williams worked his way past Woods on lap 26 to move into second place. But there would be no catching Shell as he captured his third win of the season over Williams, with Woods in third, Ferguson in fourth and VanDyke in fifth.

Trey Bayne, Joey Trent, Derek Lane, Dillon Hodge and Kyle Barnes rounded out the top ten.

With NASCAR Whelen All-American Series rules mandating the top eight finishers being inverted on twin features, the front row for the second 35-lap race had Lane and Trent leading the field to green. Lane jumped out to the lead over Trent, VanDyke, Bayne and Woods.

VanDyke passed Trent for second on lap 7, Woods, Ferguson, Williams and Bayne battled behind them.

Woods worked his way past Trent for third on lap 11, while Williams passed both Ferguson and Trent to move to fourth. Williams pressured Woods for third until making the pass for position on lap 15.

The battle for the lead between Lane and VanDyke ratcheted up a notch on lap 18 when VanDyke moved out front. Williams also wasted no time as he quickly got around Lane to move in behind the leader.

As VanDyke and Williams took the white flag, Williams used a bump-and-run move to move VanDyke up the banking.

The duo raced down the backstretch side-by-side into the third turn, and with Williams getting a strong run off the fourth turn to narrowly edge VanDyke for his sixth feature victory of the season.

Shell finished in third, followed by Woods in fourth and Ferguson in fifth.

Bayne, Trent, Barnes, Hodge and Wayne Hale rounded out the top ten.

In other action, Chase Dixon scored his third win of the season in the first Modified Street feature, with Kirby Gobble in second, Royce Peters in third, Alex Miller in fourth and Daniel McMurray in fifth.

Gobble was the winner in the second Modified Street feature, with Dixon second, Peters third, Miller fourth and Rusty Clendenin in fifth.

Keith Helton came out on top of a battle with John Ketron to score his seventh Pure 4 feature of the season, with Billy Byington, Brandon Sutherland, Kenny Absher and Ketron rounding out the top five.

Kevin Canter cruised to his 11th Mod 4 feature victory the season. Kirby Gobble finished in second, with Dalton Thomas in third, Jimmy Acito in fourth and Chris Amburgey in fifth.

Rob Austin recorded his third straight Pure Street win by outrunning Joey Sykes for the victory. Sammy Ferguson followed in third, with Kevin Darnell in fourth and Jon Cook in fifth.
