Michael Page powered to the lead on the opening lap of Saturday night’s Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Governors Cup feature, and led the rest of the way for the win at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama.
The win garnered the Douglasville, Georgia driver a $10,000 payday, and notched his third career series victory.
Page started outside of the front row, alongside polesitter Dillon Tidmore. Page moved ahead of Tidmore on the opening lap and held the point for the rest of the 60 lap feature.
It wasn’t as easy as it sounds, however, as Page first had to work heavy lap traffic and then had to hold off late race challenges by Jason Hiett and Jake Knowles for the win.
Knowles, of Rome, Georgia, finished in second, with Hiett in third, William Thomas in fourth and Riley Hickman in fifth.
Dillon Tidmore, Dane Dacus, Vic Hill, Ray Cook and Ronnie Johnson rounded out the top ten.
