Derek Hagar two-stepped his way through the Peach State, as he won both USCS Sprint Car Series events in Georgia over the weekend.

Hagar started off on Friday with a victory at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, and followed that up with a second win Saturday night at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia.

On Friday night, Hagar started on the outside of the front row for the feature, and after a side-by-side battle on the opening lap with series point leader Jordon Mallett, took the lead coming off the fourth turn. Hagar then pulled away to lead all 30 laps en route to the win at Boyd’s Speedway.

“The track was great tonight and we could really move around on it,” Hagar said. “There wasn’t much cushion on the high side, but we had our car set up well, and we could run the middle and the bottom. We could go where ever we needed to go to get around the lapped cars.”

Terry Gray finished second, with Mallett in third, Morgan Turpen in fourth and Andy McElhannon in fifth.

In preliminary action, Turpen won the six-lap Hoosier Tire Speed Dash, and the three eight lap heat races were won by Mallett, Eric Riggins, Jr. and Hagar.

On Saturday night, Hagar again held off Gray to score the victory at Senoia Raceway.

Turpen finished in third, followed by McElhannon in fourth and Riggins, Jr. in fifth.

In preliminary action, Mallett won the six-lap Hoosier Tire Speed Dash, and the three eight lap heat races were won by Turpen, Matt Linder of Pendergrass and Hagar.

The USCS Sprint Car Series returns to action on Saturday, August 26 at Lexington 104 Speedway in Lexington, Tennessee. For more information, visit http://www.uscsracing.com.
