Brandon Overton scored his second career Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series win Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama.

The win was worth a $4,000 pay day to the of Evans, Georgia speedster.

Overton passed race leader Dale McDowell on lap 28, then slid up the track coming off turn two, giving McDowell another shot at the top spot. But McDowell could not hang on as they entered turn three.

Cory Hedgecock then slipped his nose in and tried to take over the top spot but could not. Overton then checked out on the field, but saw his advantage go away due to a late race caution.

But there was no denying Overton, who drove away to his first career Talladega Short Track victory.

McDowell came home in second, with Dallas Cooper in third, Hedgecock in fourth and Todd Morrow in fifth.

Brandon Kinzer, Douglas Stewart, Eric Hickerson, Austin Horton and Brad Skinner rounded out the top ten.

The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series returns to action on Saturday, May 13 at Thunderhill Raceway in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. For more information, visit
