Jason Welshen took the lead early, and went on to score the victory in Saturday’s Super Late Model Frostbuster 40 at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee.

Welshan took the lead on the drop of the green flag, with defending race winner Cory Hedgecock in second.

While Welshan moved out to the lead, Dawsonville, Georgia’s Donald McIntosh moved to third, then worked his way forwards in pursuit of Welshan and Hedgecock. The lead trio tighnted up as the top three worked lap traffic, but the raced was slowed for a spin by Bill Ogle, Jr., bringing out the caution.

On the restart, McIntosh powered his way around Hedgecock to take second, and went to work trying to reel in Welshan for the lead. McIntosh was able to briefly take the top spot, but Welshan was able to take it right back. Meanwhile, Hedgecock saw his day end with mechanical issues.

In the end, Welshan moved away to score the victory and pick up the $3500 victory.

McIntosh finished in second, with Mike Weeks in third, Michael Chilton in fourth and John Ownbey in fifth.
