It was a pair of firsts for Brandon Overton on Saturday night, as the Evans, Georgia speedster scored his first Southern Nationals Bonus Series victory in the 18th annual running of “The Gobbler” at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia.
The win also came just 19 days into a new venture for Overton driving for Chip Stone and Randy Weaver.
The victory was worth $10,000 for Overton, and made him the 11th different winner in the 13 races held on the tour, as well as the 24th different winner in just 34 total events in three seasons.
Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Georgia picked up the 2016 Southern Nationals Bonus Series title with his third place finish in the main event. He picked up $5,053 and picked up an additional $5,000 as the overall champion of the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals, Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals and the Southern Nationals Bonus Series.

Chris Madden finished in second, with McIntosh third, Chickamauga, Georgia’s Dale McDowell in fourth and Jason Hiett in fifth.
Chase Junghans, David Payne, Jason Welshan, Cody King and Austin Smith rounded out the top ten.
