Donald McIntosh captured the biggest win of his racing career on Saturday night at Tennessee’s Crossville Speedway in the Southern Nationals Bonus Series-sanctioned Tennessee State Championship race.
The Dawsonville, Georgia racer, who is the current series points leader, led from start-to-finish in the 60-lap feature to take home the victory and a $10,000 payday.
McIntosh held off Vic Hill for the victory. Ray Cook came home in third, with Billy Ogle, Jr. in fourth and Ricky Weiss in fifth.
Ronnie Johnson, Kenny Collins, Ryan King, Brandon Overton and Caleb Ashby rounded out the top ten.
Eight caution flags slowed the main event. On lap 14, Mike Weeks slowed in turn one. On lap 21, Todd Morrow slowed in turn two and on lap 31 Kenny Cobble spun in turn four. On the 32nd lap, a three car pileup in turn four brought out the caution flag again. On lap 45, Riley Hickman came to rest in turn two. On lap 47, multiple flat tires slowed the field again and the final caution flag slowed on lap 58 for Chris Madden slowing with a flat tire.
The Southern Nationals Bonus Series is back in action on Friday and Saturday October 14 and 15, at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, Tennessee, with $13,000 on the line for the winner.
