Burns Scores Rupert Porter Memorial Wins At Anderson

Anderson Motor Speedway wrapped up the 2016 season on Friday night with one of the biggest races of year for the Williamston, South Carolina raceway, the Rupert Porter Memorial.

Jeremy Burns closed out the year in a big way, as he swept both 50 lap Late Model Stock features on the night.

In the first feature, Burns edged out David Roberts for the win, with Will Burns finishing in third, Cole Glasson in fourth and Marty Ward in fifth.

In the second feature, Burns held off Will Burns to record the victory. R.A. Brown finished in third, with Glasson in fourth and Kenneth Headen in fifth.

David Roberts finished in sixth in the second feature, and wrapped up the Late Model Stock Championship for the season.

In other action, Ben Kay scored the victory in the Mini Stock feature, with Tyler Sease in second, B.J. Thrasher in third, Koleman Bryant in fourth and Chad Campbell in fifth.

David Darnell crossed the finish line in sixth, taking the division championship in the process.

Chuck Mitchell took the win in the BM Modified feature. Austin Northcutt finished in second, wrapping up the division championship for 2016. Brandon Segars finished third, with Chad Stewart fourth and Jamie Winslett fifth.

Colby Howard edged out Shaun Mize for the victory in the Super Limiteds feature. Mize, however, came away with the big prize, as he took home the division championship for the season. Jacob York finished in third, followed by Jonathon Ragsdale in fourth and James Dolan in fifth.

Chad Watt was the Renegade feature winner, with 2016 division champion Chris Whitfield, Billy Brown, Shane Brown and Jonathon Ragsdale rounding out the top five.

In the US Legends feature, Michael Womack scored the victory, with Nolan Pope in second, Jacob Heafner in third, 2016 division champion Randy Gunton in fourth and Karl Moberg in fifth.

In the Front Wheel Drive feature, Scott Parker scored the win and completed his run to the 2016 division championship title. Chad Redding finished in second, with Tommy Davis, Jr. in third, Chris Harvell in fourth and Shane Brown in fifth.
