With a mid-race pass of Steve Wallace, Donnie Wilson was able to add a new piece of music memorabilia to his collection Friday night.
Wilson sped away in the second half of Friday’s Southern Super Series 50-lap feature at Tennessee’s Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville to earn the prized jukebox trophy bestowed upon him in victory lane. The new piece of hardware will make sweet music along side the guitar the Oklahoman won from his first SSS victory in 2014.
“This place is awesome. It’s one of my favorite tracks,” said Wilson. “I won two years ago to get a guitar and won tonight to win a jukebox, so that’s pretty cool. Not very many people can say they’ve won here, but now I can say I’ve won at least twice. Last year we won one Southern Super Series race and two years ago we won three races, so hopefully this will boost us up where we can win a couple more this year.”
Wallace, who led the opening 24 laps before Wilson worked his way by, finished second, with Bubba Pollard third, Derek Scott, Jr. fourth and Quin Houff in fifth.
Riley Herbst, Dalton Sargeant, William Byron, Spencer Davis and Johnny Brazier rounded out the top ten.
