Jason Croft came out on top of a hard, door-to-door battle with Shawn Chastain to drive to the Super Late Model victory Saturday night at the famed Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA.

The qualifying process found T.J. Reaid on the pole after spinning a zero on the invert wheel, leaving Croft on the outside of the front role. As the green flew, Reaid grabbed the lead and was immediately set upon by Chastain in a side by side race for the top spot.

Chastain took the lead on lap four as Reaid slipped back, as Croft also made his way past. Over the next several laps, Croft and Chastain battled for the top sport, with Croft finally taking point for good. From there, he pulled away to his second win of the season. Chastain settled for second spot, with Reaid in third, Dale Thurman in fourth and Derrick Rainey in fifth.

In other action, Chris Fennell led wire to wire in the Steelhead/525 feature to take his second win of the season followed by Don Jenkins in second. Alan Brewer got around Jimmy Price to take third with Rob Johnson taking fourth with Price falling back to fifth.

Shane Smith also led the entire distance to take his second win of the year in the Crate Late Model class. Following Smith across the line were T.J. Brittain in second, Zach Pilcher in third, Hunter Jones in fourth and Tate Nicholson in fifth.

Andy Morris made his way thru the field in the Super Bomber feature to get his third win of the season. The race for the rest of the top five settled out with Justin Begley in second trailed by Randall Powell, Daniel Brewer, and Ronnie Haynes.

John Davis had the Economy Bomber feature well in hand, leading every lap but the final one as Austin Smith, for the third week in a row, came from deep in the field to take the lead in the final laps. Smith slipped high out of turn four almost giving the position back to Davis, but held on for the win. Davis settled for second with James Gagnon in third, Eric Hamby in fourth and Chris Neese in fifth.

Jamie Cross was unstoppable in the Pony feature as he went on for his eighth win in a row, and his eleventh for the season. Jason Verrong finished in second, followed by Bo Jordan in third, Marty Clark in fourth and Marlon Burtz in fifth.

Edwin Scott took the win in the Cruiser feature as he bested Anthony Pittman in second, Randy Ledford in third, George Wilson in fourth and Stephen Smith in fifth.

Dixie Speedway is back in action on Saturday, July 18, as the track plays host to the USCS Sprint Car Series. For more info, visit DixieSpeedway.com.
