Tim Crawley from Benton, AR, charged from his third place starting position after a first lap restart into the lead of Saturday night’s USCS Sprint Car Series feature, then to the win 30 laps later at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS.
It marked Crawley’s second USCS win of the season.
A first lap tangle that occurred when K&N Filters Pole Position starter Buster Dickerson spun exiting turn two, leaving Terry Gray with no place to go. The incident left Dickerson and Gray on the sidelines and re-aligned the front six cars for the restart. Marshall Skinner, who originally was to start fourth, also needed repairs and restarted at the rear of the field.
The new lineup placed Eddie Gallagher on the pole and Crawley on the outside of the front row. Jordon Mallett and Morgan Turpen made up the second row.
Crawley beat out Gallagher for the lead on the restart. After that, it was a battle for the runner-up spot as Crawley led all 30 laps. Gallagher held off first Jordon Mallett and then Skinner to finish in second. Skinner held on for third, with Mallett in fourth and Turpen in fifth.
The United Sprint Car Series returns to action on Friday, June 26 at Diamond Park Speedway in Nashville, AR. The series then completes a weekend double at I-30 Speedway in Benton, AR on Saturday, June 27.
