There’s something to be said for the luck of the draw. Just ask Paul Menard, as a random draw will have him starting on the pole for Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Unlimited non-points exhibition race at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL.
Menard’s crew chief, Justin Alexander, pulled No. 1 in a random draw to determine each team’s starting and pit road positions for the event.
Menard will lead the field to green with Kasey Kahne starting alongside. Team Penske teammates Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski will make up the second row, with 2009 event winner Kyle Busch in fifth.
Austin Dillon, Greg Biffle, 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Kevin Harvick, defending race winner Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex, Jr. round out the top 10.
In all, 25 cars are slated to take the green flag for the 75 lap non-points event, which is scheduled to roll off around 8:30 pm Saturday night.
