Benjamin Wins, Leicht Scores SEST Title At Anderson

WILLIAMSTON, SC – With a wintry mix expected in the area over the weekend, series officials with the Southeast Super Truck Series made the decision to move their planned season finale at Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, NC on Saturday further south, as the series moved to Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, SC.

It really didn’t matter much which track it was run at to Kyle Benjamin, as the 17-year-old Palmetto State pilot drove to his second straight series victory, beating out Lee Tissot for the win at the 3/8 mile speedway.

Home track favorite Randy Porter rolled home in third, with Kenneth Headen in fourth and Tim Lollis in fifth.

Meanwhile, Kevin Leicht turned a seventh place finish into the Southeast Super Truck Series championship by 15 points over Tissot. Dakota Slagle, Lollis and Cole Glasson rounded out the top five in the final points standings.

In other action, Duke Bare topped the field to score the Street Stocks feature victory. Ricky Kelley rolled home in second, with Michael Mote in third, Dewayne Worley in fourth and Jack Robertson in fifth.

Scott Parket held off Dean Slagle to pick up the Front Wheel Drive feature win. Jared Willet finished in third, with Brandy Presnell in fourth and Casey Brukett in fifth.

Ed Richie scored the win in the Carolina Vintage feature, with Phil Terry second, Roger Sams third, Joe Evans fourth and Herby James in fifth.
