After missing the first six races of the 2013 season, Willie Allen has gone two for two in both Late Model divisions at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Nashville, TN. Allen dominated the Express Recycling Limited Late Model feature on Saturday night, then hopped in his Hunter Sand and Gravel Pro Late Model and won that feature as well.

Tucker Wingo was able to get out front in the Hunter Sand and Gravel Pro Late Model feature, putting some distance between his car and the field. Tucker would lead for most of the night, but Allen would slowly reel him in. With about 20 laps to go, Allen was able to get around Wingo for the lead. Meanwhile Davey Coble was making up for lost time. Coble wasn’t able to qualify because of a mechanical failure, but was able to start the race. He came from the rear of the field and made it all the way up to second, where he would eventually be flagged.

However, controversy struck when Coble failed post-race inspection for illegal tires. That moved Tucker Wingo to second, with Michael House in third, Mark Day in fourth and Sterling Marlin if fifth.

Coble’s disqualification was a major development in the division’s points chase. Coble came into the night leading Marlin in the points, but Coble saw his points stripped from him with the disqualification, leaving Marlin as the points leader heading into the All American 400 weekend.

Willie Allen kicked off his night with a hard fought victory in the Limited Late Model division. Bobby Terry put up a strong effort, but Allen was just too strong. Allen checked out and took his second straight victory. Terry finished in second, with John Earheart in third, Allen Carter in fourth and Tyler Cordell in fifth.

Carter holds a 40 point lead entering the final race of the year.

Johnny Brazier improved to two for two on the year as he won the Open Wheel feature Saturday night. Billy Melvin finished in second, with Brandon Curren in third, Michael House in fourth and Chris Wagner in fifth. Curren’s finish locked up the Open Wheel Modified Championship.

Cody Buford entered Saturday night’s Coyote Ugly Sportsman feature just 10 points off of Billy Shaffer for the points lead. Buford did everything he could to cut into Shaffer’s points lead, starting with picking up a two point bonus for winning the pole. Buford took the green flag in third after an inversion, with Shaffer starting in fourth. Buford and Shaffer quickly worked around Derrick Johnson and Daniel Bradford, set to battle it out for the win. Buford had too much for Shaffer, as he went on to score the victory. Bradford finished in third, followed by Johnson and Bill Benson. Shaffer’s points lead was shaved to just six points entering the final race of the season.

Billy Williams won the pole for the Super Street feature and appeared to have the car to beat. Starting fifth after an inversion, Williams worked his way through the field with ease. Williams took the checkered flag first, but was disqualified after the race. This left Brice Crabtree as the winner, the first of his career at the famed Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. Matt Barnes finished in second, with Bobby Joe Rippey in third, Jeremey Newman in fourth and Carl Porter, Sr. in fifth.

Matthew Adams picked up his second straight Pure Stock feature victory. Adams took advantage of his third place starting position by wedging himself under Joseph Williams for the lead. Terry Jackson finished second, with Tink Jackson, William Coates and Joseph Williams rounding out the top five. Terry Jackson was able to extend his points lead going into the final race.

Kevin Rollins has been the man to beat in the Legends division ever since he took over Tyler Cordell’s ride. Rollins won the pole, but was forced to start in fifth after an inversion. Rollins made quick work of the field in front of him, quickly grabbing the lead. Rollins went on to win the feature, his second in a row. Points leader Chad Davis brought his car home second, extending his points lead over Wayne Grubb. Chad Davis finished in second, with Grubb in third, Jeff Young in fourth and Jody Covington in fifth.

Wayne Basket looked to have the dominant car in the Front Runner feature as he won the pole. However, the inversion forced Basket to start in fifth. During the opening laps Basket and Stephen Collins made contact effectively ending Basket’s day. This left points leader Jeffrey Taylor out in front of the field, allowing him to pick up his first Front Runner victory of the year. Matt Barnes finished in second, with Travis Owens in third, Jason Taylor in fourth and Dustin Hamlett in fifth.

The final races of the season will be on November 1 and 2 during the All American 400 weekend. Front Runners, Legends, Pure Stock, Super Street, Sportsman, Open Wheel, and Limited Late Models will all race on Friday night. Pro Late Models will race on Saturday night, before the 300 lap Super Late Model feature. For more information, visit fairgroundsspeedwaynashville.com.
