Chris Dilbeck started the night on the pole, and ended the night in victory lane after winning the Racing For Fair Tax Outlaw Late Model feature Saturday night at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, GA.

Dilbeck jumped out to the early lead, with Warren Mobley in hot pusuit while Billy Chancey and Steve Renner fought for third behind the leaders.

The first caution flag of the night flew on lap three when Stewart Smith looped his racer in turn two. No one else was involved and Stewart continued on at the rear of the field. Just before the caution, Stuart Dutton had to come to the pits with a severely damaged front end. The damage occurred on the initial start when he hit the rear bumper of David Hodges who had to check up for a car in front of him getting a slow start. Dutton was able to continue after pit work to remove the dragging parts.

The restart saw Dilbeck taking the lead once again with Mobley close on his rear bumper. Chancey was able to get by Renner and soon passed Mobley for second. The entire field stayed closely grouped together for the next 30 laps with several positions under contention. Judson McCallum had problems and had to retire at about the 10 lap mark. Soon after, Hodges had over heating problems and also had to retire from the race. A few laps later, Dutton also had to retire his car.

The battle for first began to tighten as Chancey was eventually able to chase Dilbeck down and caught him with three laps to go. Chancey got into the back of Dilbeck in turn three and both cars went spinning along with Mobley, who spun to avoid the two spinning cars in front of him. The caution was called on Chancey who had to go to the rear for causing the caution.

Before the race could restart, Mobley discovered a flat right rear and had to duck into the pits for a new tire. This moved Mobley to the back. The restart had Dilbeck and Renner on the front row with Steve Barker and Chancey on the second row. Dilbeck was able to get a good start and returned to the lead, and powered away to the win. Chancey got by Barker and Renner for second with Renner taking third, Barker fourth and Mobley fifth.

Other winners on the night included Lee Hodges in Bandoleros, Jeff Bone in Go Karts, Alex Coffey in Legends, Banks Perdue in Mini-Stocks and Jimmy Nasworthy in Enduros.
