Officials from both the Championship Auto Racing Series and the X-1R Corporation are proud to announce the transition of the Rev-Oil Pro Cup Series to the X-1R Pro Cup Series for the 2013 season and beyond as attention focuses on the season opening event on Saturday April 6 at the Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, SC.

The X-1R Corporation, which features environmentally safe, high performance lubricants for industrial applications, will transition into all elements of the title sponsorship status for the Pro Cup Series beginning immediately.

“X-1R, knowing about the history of the Pro Cup Series and the notable indications that the series is headed to the status it once was, spoke to us this winter about wanting to be involved to brand their products through the motorsports industry and its passionate fans. After a period of discussions it became clear that X-1R wanted to be involved at the highest level possible within the series and that obviously is the series title sponsorship status. After countless meetings and discussions with all parties involved we were able to make it a reality,” explained series owner Jack McNelly. “X-1R’s commitment is a very, very significant step in bringing this series back to the status it once was. If you factor in their commitment to the series, the series paying the best purse in the country to its competitors on the short track level, and our commitment to the communities and fans we are racing in this season, you’ve got one heck of a racing series for all to be excited about going forward.”

Far from being new to the sport of auto racing, X-1R has been a staple on the scene in both foreign and domestic sponsorship endeavors. However; title sponsorship of a series is the first of its kind for the Daytona Beach, Florida based company; and according to VP of Motorsports Marketing for X-1R, Scott Harrington, the timing couldn’t be more right.

“We’ve got a lot of new and exciting things happening here at X-1R and joining the Pro Cup Series is just another one of those things to add to the list. The Pro Cup Series has a stellar history there’s no doubt, but today’s announcement is all about the future and X-1R is committed at a high level to the future of the Pro Cup Series,” said Harrington. “We have several tools we will implement to make X-1R a known brand on a national level and the Pro Cup Series will be a major contributor in doing so. We look forward to our relationship and getting the 2013 season underway.”

As part of the X-1R title sponsorship a level of marketing and promotions is set to return that Pro Cup Series’ teams, fans, and sponsors were familiar with over the years that led the series to become a proving ground for NASCAR stars Joey Logano, Regan Smith, Trevor Bayne, and Brian Vickers as they began their careers. While the majority of things are already in place for the 2013 season, Pro Cup Series officials have already begun looking into the series future with X-1R.

“With everything coming together so late in the off season, it won’t be like a light switch change overnight. Over the season though you’ll see different things and promotions that we will implement that we couldn’t do before X-1R that should help get the Pro Cup Series back on people’s minds in 2013 and beyond,” added Chris Ragle Director of Operations and Marketing for the X-1R Pro Cup Series.

The 2013 season opener for the X-1R Pro Cup Series is just around the corner on Saturday April 6th at the Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, SC.
