Ronnie Bassett, Jr. made his way around Travis Swaim with 22 laps to go, and went on to score the season opening UARA-STARS season opener at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, NC on Saturday.
Dillon Bassett jumped out to an early lead, with Swaim moving to second as the two dominated the first half of the race.
Just after the 100 lap mark, David Garbo, Jr. and Chandler Levan made contact coming out of turn four, sending Levan into a spin on the frontstretch to bring out the only caution of the event on lap 104.
Swaim would hold the lead on the restart, with several drivers looking for a chance to move to the front in the closing laps. Ronnie Bassett Jr. charged for the lead on lap 128 and continued to hold that position to score the win.
Swaim held on for second, with Ben Rhodes in third, Garrett Campbell in fourth, and Dillon Bassett in fifth. Brandon Jones, Tyler Edwards, Devin Jones, David Garbo, Jr. and Garrett Jones rounded out the top 10.
