Nasse Paces Tuesday World Crown Practice At Gresham

Stephen Nasse turned in the fastest overall time in five practice sessions Tuesday evening for Wednesday’s World Crown 300.

Nasse’s time was turned in the final session, with a lap at 16.703, 107.765 mph.  Nasse showed the way in three out of five of the sessions, with four time World Crown champion Paul Kelley pacing the third session (16.933, 106.301 mph), and Mike Tifft leading the fourth session (16.753, 107.443 mph).

Among the speeds set during the day Kyle Benjamin turned the second fastest lap in the first session (16.835, 106.920 mph), but would back his car into the wall during the second session, sending Benjamin to a back up car for Wednesday.

NASCAR Sprint Cup driver David Ragan, who will be making his first career start at GMP, also turned in some strong times, including a 16.853 (106.806) in the fourth session to go second on the scoring pylon.

In all, 25 cars took time during the practice session.  Other drivers showing strong runs included Chase Elliott (16.918, 106.396 mph), Clay Alexander (16.889, 106.578 mph), T.J. Reaid (16.959, 106.578 mph), Cale Gale (16.965, 106.101 mph), Ryan Blaney (16.963, 106.113 mph), and Mike Garvey (16.971, 106.063 mph).

The 29th World Crown 300 gets gets underway with practice at noon, World Crown qualifying at 4:45 pm, Opening Ceremonies at 5:25, followed by 35 lap features for the Truck and Outlaw Late Model divisions, and the World Crown 300.
