The venerable Greenville Pickens Speedway in Easley, SC opened its 2015 season Saturday night, with twin Late Model Stock features headlining the bill.

And it wasn’t without on track – and off track – action.

Daniel Sargent was flagged the winner of the first feature, while Kenneth Headen was flagged the winner in the second.

However, as is often the case in short track racing, nobody wins until everyone passes post-race tech.

The shock absorber package the top three cars were using was not within the specifications of the NASCAR rule books, leading them to be disqualified in both races.

That gave Marty Ward the victory in the first feature, with Blair Addis moving to the win in the second feature.

David Roberts was moved to second, with Bob Root in third, Andrew Cordell in fourth and Tasha Kummer in fifth.

Kummer would be credited with the runner-up position in the second feature, with Emilee Riley in third, Joe Wilder in fourth and Root in fifth.

In other action, Jimbo Mann took the Pure Stock division win, with Spencer Darnell in second. Jason McGrew was third, and Jamie McCall took fourth.

In the Renegade division, Greg Darnell grabbed the win. Bobby Emory was second, with Blake Gregory third, Parker Jameson fourth and Terry Thurston fifth.

In the Super Renegade division, Tim Sams worked his way to the front of the field and fought to stay there for the win. Michael Mote, Stanley Pressley and Tim Crowe had put on a battle before settling in for the top four, while Terry Johnson was fifth.

Dylan Crowe won the 4-cylinder front wheel drive race, ahead of Donnie Tavernia, and Michael Webster. Justin Houston finished fourth with Travis Shelton in fifth.

Action returns to Greenville Pickens Speedway on Saturday, March 14 with racing in all local divisions, including a 50 lap Late Model Stock feature. For more info, visit GreenvillePickens.com.
