Six-time track champion Marty Ward showed his winning form Friday night at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Easley, SC, starting on the pole, falling back early in the race, then taking control and pulling away in the last half for the victory.

“We’ve been a little off during the last half of the races this season.” Ward said in victory lane. “I’ve been losing a little bit of the handling in the latter stages. But I think I finally have it handling a little better for the whole race. My spotter was telling me they were racing hard back and side-by-side behind me, but my car stayed under control and drove fine the whole race.”

When Ward mentioned cars battling for positions behind him, he was just hitting the high spots. Former champion Roger Powell kept running hard at the front of the field while Anthony Anders and Trey Gibson were fighting for fourth place. Then it was Gibson and Toby Porter fighting for fourth as Anders and Powell then ran side by side for second.

On the checkered flag lap, Ward won pulling away, and Anders was second for only two laps. Powell was third, with Gibson fourth and Porter fifth.

Justin Sorrow finished sixth and Ralph Carnes was seventh. Will Burns was eighth, Maxie Bush ninth and Brandon Fox finished tenth.

Jamie Altop didn’t lead every lap of the Trucks division feature, but he took command early by getting by Bob Root. Greg Bohannon was third.

The apparent winner in the opening feature, the Renegade division, was disqualified during post-race inspection, giving the victory to Dale Stancil. Bobby Emory finished second, and Phillip Peters was third. Andrew Cordell finished fourth and Parker Jameson was sixth.

Ricky Stephens raced his way to victory in the Charger division, in only his first race of the season. Chris Harvell finished second and Bryan Davis was third. Michael Mote was fourth and Andy Norris was fifth.

Buck Simmons went from worst to first in the Street Stock division, staying ahead of Dylan Crowe and Tyler Gibson. Dale J. Walker was fourth and Scott Waker was fifth.

In 4 Cylinders, Ray Mullinax grabbed the point early and held on for his fourth victory of the season as Dusty Simmons took second. Charlie Hooper was third, with Tommy Davis, Jr. fourth and Don Tavernia fifth.
