Andrew Cole took the early lead in Friday night’s Crate Late Model feature at Georgia’s Lavonia Speedway, and held the point the entire way to score the victory at the 3/8 mile clay raceway.

The Canon, Georgia speedster moved to the top spot on the drop of the green flag, with Cody Pritchett in pursuit. Over the first quarter of the race, Pritchett challenged time and again, looking to the inside in a bid for the lead.

Over the middle portions of the feature, Cole was able to put some distance between him and the rest of the field. But over the closing laps, Pritchett again closed on the leader, as did third place Larry Timms.

But it was to no avail, as Cole held on to score the win. Pritchett had to settle for second, with Timms in third, Payton Freeman in fourth and Nick Schlager in fifth.

Adam Partain, Colby Cannon, Brent Dixon, David McCoy and Kenny Collins rounded out the top ten.

In other action, Brandon Haley scored his second consecutive Limited Late Model feature victory. Clayton Turner finished in second, with David McCoy in third, Jimmy Johnson in fourth and Mason Tucker in fifth.

Cameron Crowe beat out Jeff Robinson for the win in the Hobby feature. Rusty House came home in third, with Rod Roberts in fourth and Austin Brumbelow in fifth.

Sterling Helm took the victory in the Modified Street feature, with Brandon Fortson in second and Jennifer Everett in third.

Stephen House edged out Evan Brown for the Stock V8 feature win, with Jack Hill in third and Terry Calhoun in fourth.

Joey Kelley scored the win in the Stock 4 feature, followed by Kevin Kelly in second, Bobby Rhinehart in third, Elliott Brayboy in fourth and Justin Turner in fifth.

Logan Beard took top honors in the Beginner 4 feature, with Preston Kelly, Jacob Kelly, Derek Murray and Jonathan Griffin rounding out the top five.

Tony Stevens was the winner in the Front Wheel Drive feature. David Creighton finished second, with North West third, D.J. Carey fourth and Wayne Glenn fifth.

Lavonia Speedway is scheduled to return to action this Friday, April 20. Visit LavoniaSpeedway.net for more information.
