Bloomquist, McDowell Take Spring Nationals Senoia Wins

Scott Bloomquist and Dale McDowell opened the 2018 Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series season at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway by picking up victories over the Easter weekend.

Bloomquist won Friday’s $3,000 event, the second Spring Nationals feature win of his career. The Mooresville, Tennessee veteran rallied from his ninth starting spot to win over Clint Smith. Shane Clanton finish in third, with Michael Page in fourth and Zach Leonhardi in fifth.

Eric Wells, Donald McIntosh, Austin Horton, Casey Roberts and Dalton Cook rounded out the top ten.

On Saturday night, it was Chickamauga, Georgia’s Dale McDowell scoring the $10,000 home state victory.

McDowell led all 60 laps en route to the win, which moves him to the top of the series all-time winners list. Bloomquist finished in second, followed by Aaron Ridley in third, Clint Smith in fourth and Zach Leonhardi in fifth.

Wells, Kyle Hardy, Austin Smith, Riley Hickman and Clanton rounded out the top ten.

The Spring Nationals Series returns to action Friday April 6 at Tennessee’s Crossville Speedway, followed the next night, April 7, at Tennessee’s Tazewell Speedway.
