The 2018 schedules for the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series, the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series and the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series have been announced.
Total purses, points funds and nightly bonuses are nearly $900,000 for the three tours, making it the largest set of regional tours in the country.
The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series two-week tour will be entering its 14th season. Georgia’s Toccoa Speedway joins the tour for the first time on Thursday, July 19, paying $3,500-to-win. A former track returning to the schedule includes a Monday, July 16 stop at Volunteer Speedway in Bull’s Gap, Tennessee for a 35-lap and $3,500-to-win race.
Three events pay $10,000-to-win on the 11-race tour. Tennessee’s Tazewell Speedway is the only track to host an event every season for what will now be the 14th time. Brandon Overton of Evans, Georgia is the defending series champion.
The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series will be entering the sixth season of competition in 2018. Georgia’s Senoia Raceway will start the series schedule for the first time in the Peach State with a double-header on March 30-31. Tazewell Speedway joins the series for the first time for a $10,000-to-win event on April 7. 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee also joins the tour for the first time on April 13, paying $5,000-to-win. Overton is the also the defending champion of this series.
The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series, which is entering its fifth full season of competition, features 15 scheduled dates from March until November with a couple of dates still to be announced. New tracks on the tour include Toccoa Raceway, Burnside, Kentucky’s Lake Cumberland Speedway and Volunteer Speedway.
The series schedule is highlighted by five-$10,000-to-win events. Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Georgia is the defending series points champion.
