Jason Croft Takes Super Late Model Victory At Dixie

Jason Croft drove to his first win of the season Saturday night in the Super Late Model feature at Woodstock, Georgia’s Dixie Speedway.

The victory makes the Woodstock native the sixth different winner in as many race so far this season at the raceway.

Croft started on the pole taking the initial lead with Granger Howell right on his bumper in second. Howell saw his night come to a premature end when a suspension problem caused him to take a hard hit on the backstretch wall. Howell climbed out uninjured.

Back under green, Croft jumped back to the lead while Dale Thurman assumed the second spot. Thurman held off Frank Ingram, until lap nine and would lose another spot to Mike McConnell the following lap.

Meanwhile, up front Croft went on to cross under the checkered flag first, with Ingram and McConnell running nose to tail for second. Thurman held on for fourth, with Landon Bagby finishing in fifth.

In other action, Matt Bishop scored the victory after moving up to the Steel Head Late Model / 525 class. Austin Smith came home in second, with Scott Hall in third, Jason Smith in fourth, and Donny Thurman in fifth.

Bobby Richey, Jr drove to his second win of the season in the Crate Late Model feature, with Jake Knowles in second, followed by Hunter Jones in third, Logan Palmer in fourth and Mike Bruner in fifth.

Pritchett held off Randall Powell for the Super Bomber feature win, his first of the season. Petey Cochran made his way to a third place finish, with Alan Brewer fourth and Travis Price fifth.

In one of the closest races of the night, Michael Brewer held off a very strong Dalton Polston for the Economy Bomber Championship win. Justin Begley settled for third, while a last lap wreck in turn two caused a shake up in the rundown, with Travis Smith getting through for fourth, while Dan Meadows able to hold on to fifth.

Kenny Clark took the Street Stinger freature win, with Chris Bragg, Shawn Harper, Jimmy Tillery and Brandy Brewer rounding out the top five.
