Spikes Gets Second Straight Super Pro Win At Commerce

Susan Spikes scored her second Super Pro division victory of the season Saturday in Summit ET drag racing action at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia.

Spikes, who is the current division points leader, took the win against fellow Commerce driver Chas Ledford in the finals with a pass at 4.996 ET on her dial in of 4.96 at 135.18 mph and a perfect reaction of 0.000. Ledford ran a dead on 5.323 ET off his 5.32 dial in at 128.81 mph but he lit the red light with a too quick reaction of -0.001.

In other action, Howard Warren defeated Matt Ward to take the Pro division win.

Warren in his 1972 Maverick ran a 7.308 ET on his 7.30 dial in (dead on run) at 92.02 mph and a 0.028 reaction. Ward ran a 6.449 ET off his 6.44 dial in (also a dead on run) at 105.85 mph and a 0.074 reaction, in a very close race. Warren’s better reaction was the difference and got him the win light.

Dickey Forrester defeated Tim Keeton in the Sportsman final to take the victory. Forrester’s 1968 Camaro took the win with a 11.582 ET on his 11.57 dial in at 114.85 mph with a 0.139 reaction time. Keeton ran a 13.265 ET off his 13.27 dial in (break out) at 99.46 mph and a 0.077 reaction.

In the Super Pro Bike Final, Randy Day defeated Randy Barnett with a 8.858 ET on his 8.82 dial in at 145.33 mph and a 0.033 reaction time. Barnett ran a 9.326 ET off a dial in of 9.29 at 139.29 mph and a reaction of 0.095.

Michael Mann took the win in Street ET bike with a 9.471 ET run on a 9.36 dial in at 136.21 mph and a 0.031 reaction time, beating out Brian Wilson’s 11.416 ET off his 11.36 dial in at 116.62 mph and a 0.104 reaction.

Nine-year-old Stephen Skelton defeated 7-year-old Cooper Hancock for the 5-9 JR Dragster victory. Skelton ran a 12.028 ET on his dial in of 11.99 at 54.29 mph and a 0.021 reaction time. Hancock ran 14.095 off his 14.02 dial in at 45.22 mph and a reaction of 0.035.

In the 10-12 JR Dragster final, 12-year-old Hayden Wilson edged out 12-year-old Michelle Vancica to take the win. Wilson ran a 9.143 ET oh his dial in of 9.13 at 71.07 mph and a 0.112 reaction time. Vancica ran an 8.854 ET off her dial of 8.90 (break out).

Adrian Wilson beat Rachel Flowers to take the win in the 13-17 JR Dragster finals. Wilson ran a 7.915 ET on his 7.90 dial in at 82.15 mph with a -0.025 reaction, but took the win, with Flowers fouling out first (first or worse rule). Flowers ran a 7.986 ET on her 7.97 dial in at 81.66 mph and a -0.026 red light.

In the Jr. Street final, Jackson Earwood defeated Claude Thomason for the win. Earwood ran an 11.553 ET on his 11.52 dial in at 61.07 mph with a 0.093 reaction time. Thomason ran an 11.565 ET off his 11.73 dial in (break out) at 57.14 mph and a 0.211 reaction.
