Wet Weather Foils Weekend Racing Plans For Some

Mother Nature was not on the side of race fans over the weekend, as rain caused headaches, delays and cancellations for several race tracks and events around the region on Saturday.

Georgia’s Senoia Raceway was slated to play host to the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series for the 20th annual Mike Head, Jr. Memorial. But the wet weather won out, causing officials to postpone the event after a band of showers moved over the speedway.

Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia was set to host the ULTIMATE Super Late Models on Saturday night, but a late band of showers postponed that event as well. That event will now be held on Friday, July 28. Visit UltimateSupers.com for details.

Woodstock, Georgia’s Dixie Speedway had local divisions on tap, but the rains came before action could begin. The speedway will see the kick-off of back-to-back events from the Southern Nationals Series with it’s sister track, Rome Speedway, next week.
