Shane Clanton lifted the lid on the 2017 season at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway Saturday night with a Super Late Model victory at the 3/8 mile raceway.

Clanton jumped to the early lead, and then went on to lead the rest of the way to score the win. Kenny Collins finished in second, with Cody King in third, Lamar Haygood in fourth and Mason Massey in fifth.

In other action, Drew Collins came back from a mid-race misfire that put him at the back of the field to drive to the victory in the Limited Late Model feature. Collins overtook Matt Black with four laps to go, and went on to win. Matt Dooley finished in second, with Black in third, Dennis Hale in fourth and Thomas Mewborn in fifth.

Jody Knowles scored the win in the Crate Late Model feature, holding off Dylan Knowls and Bobby Mills for the victory. Pete Cochran finished in fourth with Dennis Lykins, Jr. was fifth.

Blant Duke raced flag-to-flag to take the Late Model Sportsman victory. Richard Goode, Monte Vaughn, Clyde Alexander and Chris Steele rounded out the top five.

In the Hobby Stock feature, Shane Tidwell came out on top of a battle with James Swanger to score the win. Blake Harmon finished third, followed by Ricky Garland in fourth and Ted Willingham in fifth.

Mike Younginer dominated the Mini Stock feature en route to the win. Jamie Nicholson, Sr. finished second, with Jamie Godbee in third, Marc Leath in fourth and Lucas Pittman in fifth.

Dorough Bright made the pass on the outside of Carley Arnett with a couple of laps left in the Bomber feature and went on to record the victory. Mike Lilly finished in third, followed by Charlie Garrett in fourth and Tim Harmon in fifth.

Ashley Amoson had a scary moment in the Hot Shots feature, as the Newman, Georgia mom flipped end-over-end down the backstretch. Amoson was removed from the car and transferred to an area hospital for treatment.

Shane Davis scored the win, with Cody Holmes in second, Patrick Dees in third, Dean Williams in fourth and Kenny Clark in fifth.
