Kyle Bronson made the pass for the lead with four laps to go in Saturday night’s NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series feature at Georgia’s Cochran Motor Speedway, and went on to score the victory in race seven of the Winter Shootout Series.
Matt Henderson jumped out to the early lead, but would be overtaken by Riley Hickman on lap 7. Hickman would hold the top spot for the next 48 laps. Behind him , Bronston and Mark Whitener battled for position.
The caution flag would fly six times during the 60 lap feature, but each time Hickman would hold onto the lead.
As the laps wound down, the leaders found themselves working through lap traffic. That allowed Bronson and Whitener to close on Hickman, with Bronson taking the top spot on lap 55.
From there, Bronson drove away to score the victory.
Hickman finished in second, with Devin Dixon in third, Whitener was fourth and Andy Picklesimer in fifth.
Matt Henderson, Jimmy Elliott, Chase Edge, Ryan Carter and Jimmy Thomas rounded out the top ten.
The NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series Winter Shootout returns to action on Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25 at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Pooler, Georgia.
