After starting from the pole, Casey Roberts held off Shane Clanton to score the Ultimate Super Late Model Series victory Saturday night at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway.

Roberts, from Toccoa, Georgia, led flag-to-flag to score his 19th career series victory, beating out Zebulon, Georgia’s Clanton for the win.

“I knew he was right there,” said Roberts. “But, my wife was giving me great signals while we were running through traffic.”

Roberts took the lead out of the second turn of the initial lap and then held off Clanton’s attempt to slide underneath while the duo moved through lapped traffic. Behind the leaders, Chase Junghans and Austin Smith battled through the middle part of the race before Junghans secured third place position for good on lap 31.

Tom Maddox rounded out the top five finishers by keeping his distance ahead of Clint Smith.

In other action, Clint Smith scored a pair of flag to flag wins in the Limited Late Model and Crate Late Model features. After finishing sixth in the Super Late Model show, Smith bested Matt Dooley to win the Limited race. Dooley would stay close through a couple of cautions, but could not catch the veteran.

Glenn Morris battled with Thomas Mewborn to take third place, while Gary Hardin came home in fifth.

Mike Bruner, Jr. ran second to Smith in the Crate Late Model feature. Smith kept plenty of lapped traffic between himself and Bruner as the race ran caution-free. Corey Payton ran third, with Craig Scott in fourth and Josh Copeland in fifth.

Bobby Arnold cruised to the B Cadet win over Parrish Duncan and Blake Griffin. Griffin had been involved in a early race caution forcing him to come from the back of the pack to snare a podium finish.

Joe Hillman passed Ryan Ray on lap six before setting sail to the Hobby Stock victory. Dan Meadows ran third ahead of John Holcomb and Randy Cornwell.

Mike Younginer moved to the lead of the Mini Stock feature on the first lap and never looked back en route to the win. Marc Leath, David Brackett, Paris Simmons and Jeremy Griffith rounded out the top five.

Derrick Matthews took the win in the Bomber division. Tim Harmon finished in second, with Ricky Neill in third, Wayne Griggs in fourth and Michael Nelms in fifth.

The final event of Senioa Raceway’s “Fall Brawl Series” is scheduled for Saturday, October 29, fearing action from the Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Crate Late Models, B Cadets, Hobby Stock, Mini Stock, Bombers and for the first time this season, the Legends Cars.
