Billy Moyer made a late race pass pay off to the tune of $13,000, as he scored the victory in the Deep Fried 75 for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, Tennessee.

The win by the Batesville, Arkansas driver made him the 22nd different driver to score a win in series competition.

Brian Shirley took the lead at the start of the race, while Dawsonville, Georgia’s Donald McIntosh powered to second from his fourth place starting spot. The duo would battle side-by-side action until McIntosh took the lead on lap 7. Behind them, Tanner English drove past Billy Moyer, Jr. for the third position. The action would be broken up on lap 15 when a caution flew for a tangle between David Payne and Brad Skinner in turn four.

A four car tangle broke out on the restart, involving Chase Junghans, Vic Hill, Allen Murray, and Billy Ogle, Jr., which sent all four to the garage for the night.

McIntosh continued to lead on the restart, while English moved to second behind him. Caution waved again on lap 23 when Zebulon, Georgia’s Shane Clanton slowed in turn one from the fourth position.

English was glued to McIntosh’s rear bumper on the restart, as the two drivers began battling for the lead. Disaster would strike McIntosh on lap 25 when he spun in turn one while fighting with English for the race lead.

Back under green, English held the lead with Shirley, Moyer, Moyer, Jr. and Cody Mahoney giving chase. English would hold the lead through the next five cautions, holding off challenges on each restart.

The final caution of the event waved on lap 64 when Riley Hickman spun down the backstretch, setting up the final run to the finish.

On lap 66, Moyer made the move down long on English in turn one, sliding up in front of him off turn two to take the lead. From there, Moyer drove away to score the victory.

English would settle for second, with Caleby Ashby in third, Ricky Weiss in fourth and David Payne in fifth.

Moyer, Jr., Riley Hickman, McIntosh, Brad Skinner and Ryan King rounded out the top ten.

The next event for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series will be on Saturday, November 5 at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky for the Fall Classic. For more information, visit SouthernNationalsSeries.com.
