Mike McConnell pulled into Woodstock, Georgia’s Dixie Speedway for the first time this season in a brand new Super Late Model Saturday night.

When he drove out, the Ball Ground, Georgia driver had his first career SLM division feature victory.

Defending division champion Shawn Chastain set fast time in qualifying, but would start six on the invert, with Kurt English rolling off form the pole position.

English led several laps from the start of the green before relinquishing the lead to McConnell. Meanwhile, behind the leaders, Chastain was looking to move to the front, powering his way up to third behind Croft. By the time the race hit the halfway mark, Chastain had moved around Croft for second.

Ahead of that battle, McConnell moved away, and went on to score the victory. Chastain settled for second, with Croft in third, Dale Thurman in fourth and T.J. Reaid in fifth.

In the Steel Head Late Model feature, Andy Morris took the lead from pole sitter Rob Johnson on the opening lap, and led the rest of the way for his first win of the season. Johnson followed in second, with Levi Hicks in third, Scott Hall in fourth and Ronnie Haynes in fifth.

Justin Shipley took less than one lap to go from his fifth starting place to move into second, and into the lead by lap two in the Crate Late Model feature. Tate Nichelson followed him through to the second position. Shipley went onto score win number three on the season, with Nichelson in second. Jason Morris finished in third, with Hunter Jones in fourth and Cass Fowler in fifth.

Daniel Brewer took the win in the Super Bomber feature, with brother Michael Brewer finishing in second. Randall Powell followed closely in third, while Roy Patterson recovered from an early spin to finish fourth. Donny Thurman took the fifth position.

Taylor Cole looked to be on his way to his first ever victory in the Economy Bomber feature until the final lap, when James Gagnon charged by. Gagnon took his first win of the season, with Cole in second. Von Casey, Jerry Fowler and Daniel Floyd rounded out the top five.

Lee Sisson scored the victory in the Street Stingers feature. Kenny Clark finished in second, with Randy Ledford third, Byron Sisson fourth and Tyler Dilbeck fifth.
