David McCoy Doubles Up With Lavonia Late Model Wins

David McCoy brought a broom with him to Lavonia Speedway on Friday night.

The Franklin, North Carolina speedster powered to the win in both the Limited Late Model and the FASTRAK Pro Late Model races to sweep the Late Model features at the Lavonia, Georgia raceway.

In the Limited Late Model feature, McCoy held off Stephen Segars to take the win. Paul Byrum finished in third, with David Conely in fourth and Ted Crunkleton in fifth.

In the FASTRAK Pro Late Model feature, McCoy beat out Will Beard to make the trip to Victory Lane, with Jeff Robinson finishing in third, Rusty Jordan in fourth and Vince Fanello in fifth.

In other action, Shane Yarbrough took the win in the Hobby Stock feature, followed by Mitchell Godfrey in second, Brian Hardman in third, Ray Hamilton in fourth and Lewis Roberts in fifth.

Keith Teasley was the winner in the Stock 8 feature, as he edged out Ray Fosey for the victory. Evan Brown finished third, with David Murphy fourth and Len Cleveland fifth.

Kevin Kelly topped the Stock 4 field to take the feature win. Kenny Dobbs finished in second, followed by Dustin Bales in third and Kenny Phillips in fourth.

Nathan Bowen was first to the checkered flag for the Rookie 4 feature victory, with Grant Roberts, Parris Simmons, Rhett Simmons and Thomas Bright rounding out the top five.

Jackie Holden took the win in the Front Wheel Drive feature, with Joey Kelly in second, Remington Bryson in third, Taylor McElhannon in fourth and Daniel Reynolds in fifth.

Lavonia Speedway will take this weekend off, and will return to action on Friday, August 5, as the raceway plays host to the 602 Thunder Series, along with action from the FASTRAK Pro Late Models, Modified Street, Stock 8, Rookie 4 and Front Wheel Drive divisions.
