Hancock Family Score Father’s Day Wins At Commerce

Mark Hancock scored the Father’s Day Super Pro victory in Summit ET Drag Racing action at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA on Saturday.

Meanwhile, his grandson, Cooper Hancock, took the win in the 5-9 Jr. Dragster finals.

Mark Hancock defeated second generation racer Hank Wilhelm in the final with a 5.704 ET on his 5.71 dial in (break out) at 121.68 mph and a 0.004 reaction time in his ’77 Vega. Wilhelm, in his ‘96 Ed Quay dragster, ran a 50.065 ET off his 5.08 dial in (bigger breakout) at 127.41 mph and a 0.005 reaction.

Chad Brewer took the Pro victory in his ’72 Nova, defeating Jeff Wagner in a ’71 Duster. In the final, Brewer ran a 6.721 ET on his 6.69 dial in at 98.80 mph and a 0.013 reaction. Wagner ran a 6.510 ET on his 6.47 dial in at 105.48 mph and a reaction of 0.048.

Sportsman division points leader Scott Reynolds won over Russell Haskins in their division’s final round. Reynolds, in his ’02 Camaro, ran a 13.255 ET off his 13.22 dial in at 102.54 mph with a 0.046 reaction. Haskins, in his ’13 Mustang, ran a 14.812 ET on his 14.28 dial in at 96.45 mph and a reaction time of 0.057.

Tim Sutton scored his first Super Pro Bike win of the season, defeating David Fletcher in the final. Sutton ran a 5.540 ET on his 5.54 dial on (dead on) at 119.92 mph and a 0.015 reaction. Fletcher ran a 5.795 ET on his 5.79 dial in (dead on) at 116.16 mph and a 0.048 reaction.

Michael Mann on his ’06 Busa defeated Jordan Autry for his first Street ET Bike win of the year. Mann ran a 9.536 ET off his 9.50 dial in at 138.03 mph and a 0.065 reaction time. Autry ran a 9.358 ET on his 9.31 dial in at 141.82 mph and a 0.127 reaction.

In the Junior Street final, Jacob Wilson in a Chevy Truck defeated Makaila Hinsley in her ’12 Honda Civic. Wilson ran an 11.291 ET off his 11.26 dial in at 64.33 mph with a reaction of 0.025 to Hinsley’s 11.261 ET on her 11.24 dial in at 65.02 mph and a 0.071 reaction.

In the 5-9 Jr. Dragster final, 6-year-old Cooper Hancock defeated Cole Wilson with a 14.00 ET off his 13.90 dial in at 45.54 mph and a reaction of 0.190. Cole ran a 12.277 ET on his dial in of 12.07 at 49.31 mph and a red light start of -.259.

In the 10-12 Jr. Dragster final, Aidan Anglin won during his first race ever. In the final, Anglin defeated 11-year-old Cody Sims. Anglin ran a 12.027 ET on his 11.91 dial in at 51.73 mph with a 0.205 reaction. Sims ran a 9.177 ET off his 8.90 dial in at 74.29 mph and a 0.235 reaction time.

Rachel Flowers took the 13-18 Jr. Dragster win, beating out Jessie Daniel in the final. Flowers ran a 7.948 ET on her 7.92 dial in at 82.61 mph and a 0.004 reaction. Daniel ran a 7.937 ET off her dial in of 7.90 at 81.87 mph and a 0.064 reaction.
