Croft Goes Wire-To-Wire For Dixie Super Late Model Win

Dixie Speedway officially opened up its 47th season of racing Saturday night, with Jason Croft becoming the first Super Late Model winner of the regular season at the Woodstock, GA raceway.

Croft led the entire distance in the 30 lap feature. Defending division champion Shawn Chastain was able to gain on Croft in lap traffic, but in the end he was forced to settle for a distant second.

Dale Thurman finished in third, with Johnny Chastain in fourth and Lamar Haygood in fifth.

In other action, Matt Larson scored his first career win ever at the historic raceway as he bested father and son Jason and Austin Smith in the Steel Head Late Model feature. Scott Hall managed a fourth place finish ahead of Andy Morris in fifth.

Matt Black became another first time winner at Dixie as he held off a hard charging Shane Smith to take the Crate Late Model win. Smith, after starting in the rear due to a spin early in the race, made his way back up for second followed by Cody Richards in third, Jade Jones in fourth and Jesse Goss in fifth.

Cass Fowler passed made his way around the outside of Alan Brewer halfway through the Super Bomber feature to take the victory. Alan Brewer held on the second spot followed by his son Daniel Brewer in third. Randall Powell raced his way into fourth just ahead Michael Brewer in fifth.

Landon Bagby led flag to flag for the Economy Bomber feature win, but had his hands full holding off Dan Meadows in second. Ryan Ray finished in third, trailed by Dalton Polston in fourth and Taylor Cole in fifth.

Shawn Harper took the Street Stinger win ahead of Cody Sisson, Byron Sisson, Jimmy Wilson and Charlie Ivey.
