A Winter Storm Warning for North Georgia has forced postponement of the NeSmith Racing Annual Awards Banquet at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, GA scheduled for this Saturday night.

The event has been rescheduled for Saturday night, February 20.

The National Weather Service is forecasting ice accumulations along with snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches in the valleys and 5 to 10 inches in the higher elevations. Travel is not recommended in the area.

William Thomas of Phenix City, AL won Round 1 of the Winter Shootout on January 10 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. The final two Rounds of the Winter Shootout will take place at Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA on February 27 and 28.
