Brian Campbell crossed the finish line ahead of Dominique Van Wieringern to score the win in Sunday’s CRA Fall Brawl for the ARCA/CRA Super Series at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, IN.

It marked Campbell’s fourth series win of the season, and the 18th of his career.

With the victory, the 36-year-old moves into a three-way tie for third all-time in career wins with Junior Hanley and Johnny VanDoorn.

“We’ve had a really good season with four wins in CRA and another five at Berlin (Raceway in the track’s Super Late Model series). This Lakeshore Motorsports Team is just clicking right now. It helps thought that this is another one of my favorite race tracks,” Campbell said. “She (Van Wieringen) never let me rest at all and I wanted to make sure I had enough track between us so that we didn’t have to push the car too hard and it all worked out.”

After fast qualifier Blaine Rocha drew a six for an inversion, Chad Finley and Campbell led the field to the start. As the green waved, Finley suddenly slowed as he motor went sour, drawing the race’s first caution. That moved the inside row up and put Cody Coughlin in the first starting spot. Coughlin paced the field for the first three laps before Campbell made the pass on lap four. Coughlin regrouped and took the lead back the next lap.

Campbell trailed Coughlin until lap 13 when he drove by to reclaim the lead. Meanwhile, Van Wieringen, who started 10th, worked her way through the field and soon found herself in second spot with sights set on the leader.

With the last 71 laps going caution free, Van Wieringen would not be able to catch Campbell to make a charge at the lead as he would keep plenty of real estate and lapped traffic between them. Campbell went on to cruise to the victory, leading a total of 89 laps en route to victory lane.

Van Wieringen scored a career high second place finish, with Rocha in third, Grant Quinlan in fourth, and Coughlin in fifth.

Hunter Baize, Paul Shafer, Jr., Terry Senneker, Jr., Ali Kern and Mark Lambert rounded out the top ten.

Dawsonville, GA’s Spencer Davis finished in 11th.

The ARCA/CRA Super Series wraps up its 2015 campaign with one of the crown jewels of short track racing, the legendary Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, IN on Oct. 11.
