Former winner Donnie Hamrac made the most of a late race miscue when Ryan Redmon spun his tires on a restart, allowing Hamrac to speed away to the Modifieds of Mayhem feature victory Saturday night at Montgomery Motor Speedway in Montgomery, AL.

Eighteen cars took the green flag in the feature, led to the start by Billy Melvin. The first caution of the race flew as Melvin brushed the wall in turn one. The second caution came out when Troy Gray and Joe Armendia made contact.

There was more mayhem on the restart, when several cars tangled, including Mike Maddox, Parker Pugh, Ron Beach, Jason Morman, Wade Redd, Melvin and the John Thomas. Maddox, Melvin, Morman and Redd suffered the most damage in the incident.

Back under green, Redman controlled the top spot, and it looked like the Moultrie, GA driver had the win in the bag. That all changed when John Thomas brought out the final caution of the event setting up the final restart.

When Redmon spun his tires, Hamrac sped past, and drove away for the win. Redmon held on for second, with Jeff Letson in third, Ryan Paul in fourth and Donald Crocker in fifth.

Rocky Rogers, Armendia, Pugh, Cameron Berry and Heath Mills rounded out the top ten.

In other action, Larry Speakman brought the Interstate Batteries Late Model Sportsman division to the green flag for the first of two feature events on the night. Jason Furrow would move to the lead spot, with Bobby Reuse giving chase in second. The first caution of the event flew on lap seven when Speakman rolled to a stop on the backstretch.

Back under green, Furrow moved back to the lead, but as the laps wound down, Justin Caton began closing on the leader. With seven laps to go, Caton moved to the lead, and would stay there the rest of the way to collect his first victory of the 2015 season. Furrow finished in second, with Bill Bethea III in third, Joe Hudson in fourth and Reuse in fifth.

In the second Late Model Sportsman feature, Joey Holt started on the pole after a redraw, and led the field to green. The first caution would fly before the end of the first lap when Holt spun, sending Brad Edwards around as he tried to avoid Holt’s car.

After several attempts to get back underway, Bill Bethea III found himself out front. With two laps to go, a tangle between Edwards and Travis Cleckler set the stage for a green-white-checkered finish.

On the drop of the green, Justin Caton tried to make a run on the leader, but Bethea III was able to hold him off for the win. Caton crossed the line in second, with Perry Patino in third, with Joe Hudson in fourth and Edwards rebounding for a fifth place finish.

Joel Collier and Kyle Moore brought the Modified Mini field to the green, with Collier taking the lead. Moore held onto second until lap four, when he slipped and made contact with the turn one wall, ending his night. Collier would go on to hold off Chris Landers to score the win. Rusty Alverson finished third, with Lance Campbell in fourth. Moore was credited with fifth.

Dwayne Wesenberg jumped out to an early lead in the Street Stock feature. The first caution of the event flew on lap six when David Wood spun by himself in turn four. As the race went on, Chance Adkins steadily stalked the leader. On the final lap, Wesenberg and Adkins tangled in turn four, sending both cars around. That allowed Wood to slip through to score the victory. Charles Davis finished in second, with Brian Hutchinson in third, Wesenberg in fourth and Atkins in fifth.

Montgomery Motor Speedway will be back in action as R.S. Trucking presents the Spring Explosion 125 “Show Me the Money” Pro Late Model race, along with action from the Interstate batteries Late Model Sportsman, Street Stocks and the SMARS Motorcycle Series.
