Weaver Captures Ultimate SLM Win At Smoky Mountain

Randy Weaver powered to the top spot on lap 11 of Saturday night’s Ultimate Super Late Model Series feature at Smokey Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN, and drove away to score the win and capture the $5,000 top prize.

Weaver started the night by leading qualifying, turning a lap at 15.591 seconds. On the drop of the green, second place starter Mark Douglass jumped out to the early lead, and would hold the top spot for the first 10 circuits.

On lap 11, Weaver made his way around Douglass to take the top spot. He would hold the lead the rest of the way to score the victory.

Defending series champion Dennis Franklin made his way from the 14th starting position to finish second. Mike Marlar finished in third, followed by Billy Ogle, Jr, in fourth and Skip Arp in fifth.

Derek Ellis, David Crabtree, Dustin Mitchell, Dusty Carver and Chad Ogle rounded out the top ten.

The next race for the Carnesville, GA based series will be on Saturday, April 4 at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA. For more information, visit UltimateSupers.com.
