After a long, cold winter, Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA opened up its 2015 season with the annual Late Model Mania on the 3/8 mile dirt raceway over the weekend.
Toccoa, GA’s Casey Roberts took top honors in the Ultimate Super Late Model feature on Sunday, as he scored the victory and the $4,000 pay day.
Roberts started the day on the pole for the feature, and held off Gaffney, SC’s Dennis Franklin for the win.
Jay Sessoms crossed the finish line in third, with Dustin Mitchell in fourth and Hunter Peacock in fifth.
Kenny Collins, Jeff Smith, Jason Welshan, Randy Dillard and Scott Groves rounded out the top 10.
In other action Colby Cannon topped the FASTRAK Pro Late Model field to score the feature win. Davis Smith ran second, with Larry Timms in third, David McCoy in fourth and Cla Knight in fifth.
Also on the track Sunday was the Monster Mini Stock Association, with Jamie Mattison scoring the victory. Tack Brown finished in second, with Michael Foster in third, Dustin Morris in fourth and Jeff Dobbs in fifth.
In Saturday action, the Southeastern Sportsman Limited Late Models took to the track, with David McCoy picking up the win. Drew Collins finished in second, followed by Bubba Russell in third, Randy Dillard in fourth and Jerry Loudermilk in fifth.
Thomas Riggins was the winner in the Hobby 602 feature. James Nash, Mitchell Godfrey, Daniel Fowler in fourth and Brandon Stroud in fifth.
Daniel Reynolds scored the win in the Front Wheel Drive feature, with Jackie Holden in second, Josh Wells in fourth and Robbie Cook in fifth.
Chris Capes took top honors in the Modified Street feature. Daniel Doster finished second, with Mark Wilbanks in third, Clayton Calloway in fourth and Michael Segars in fifth.
Jessica Still topped the field in the Rookie feature. Matthew Ferguson finished second, with Bradley Lambert in third.
Terry Brown was the winner in the Stock 8 feature.
