Roberts Races To Pause For The Cause Hartwell Victory

HARTWELL, GA – Hartwell Speedway in Hartwell, GA concluded their 3rd annual Pause For The Cause, honoring three-year-old Grant Terrell, who is currently undergoing treatments for stage four cancer. Various fund raising events for Terrell raised over $5,000 for the family.

In on track, action, Toccoa, GA’s Casey Roberts took home the victory in the 40 lap Super Late Model feature. Roberts started the race on the pole, with Benji Cole alongside.

The drop of the green saw a multi-car mishap break out, with Cole moving to the lead. As a full lap was not completed, the field was lined up in their original starting positions, and a complete restart was set.

Roberts would gain the lead on the start, and never looked back. He raced his way through several cautions and went on to pick up the victory.

Jerry Laudermilk finished in second, with Drew Collins in third, Jimmy Ivester in fourth and Ted Crunkleton in fifth.

In other action, Frankie Beard powered to the victory in the SECA Late Model feature, with Ashley Poole finishing in second. Adam Smith ran third, with Bryce Alewine in fourth and Grant Jordan in fifth.

Robin Collins topped the field in the Hobby Stock feature. Nick Sellers crossed the line in second, with A.J. Watson in third, Rod Roberts in fourth and Brent Russell in fifth.

Kole Hardy outdistanced Michael Segars to score the Modified Street feature victory. Aaron McIntosh, Jennifer Everett and Richard Jones rounded out the top five.

Cal Moon scored the win in the Stock V8 feature. Keith Teasley finished in second, with Ricky Mauldin in third, George Fortson in fourth and Terry Brown in fifth.

In the Stock Four Cylinder feature, J.J. Garrett beat out Cy Strickland for the win, with Jeremy Hicks in third, Mason Tucker in fourth and Brent Couch in fifth.

Jackie Holden came away with the win in the Up Front feature. Stacy Foster finished second, with Keith Hicks third, Wayne Chapman fourth and Robbie Cook fifth.

Hartwell Speedway returns to action Friday night with a full race program, plus the $1,000 Crate Late Model All Star Challenge.
