NASHVILLE, TN – After a bumpy season, everything went Willie Allen’s way Sunday night at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Nashville, TN.

Allen started the night by turning in fast time in Pro Late Model qualifying, and ended it in victory lane, scoring the $5,000 victory in the Music City.

Tucker Wingo took charge of the event early. A caution on lap ten ended the night for driver Michael House. Wingo restarted the race and held the lead until lap 17 when Chris Whorton, driving the #84 Mike Alexander owned entry, took the point. Whorton paced the field from lap through lap 44. Wingo re-assumed the lead on lap 45, leading during two caution periods, one for Davey Coble stopping on the track and the other for a spin by Chase Oliver on lap 56.

The race restart on lap sixty saw Allen make a move and lead for the first time of the evening. Allen continued to lead when a caution on lap 70 for the car of Tyler Miles slowed the field. Allen continued to pace the field as 18 lead laps cars battled around the 5/8th mile high bank oval. The caution appeared again on lap 94 when Josh Weston was involved in a serious crash.

The event which was scheduled for 100 laps saw the scoring laps froze at the end of lap 98 to allow the fans to see a green-white-checker finish. The field restarted single file, as Allen led the last two laps to take the victory.

Wingo followed Allen across the finish line to finish in second, with two-time Daytona 500 winner Sterling Marlin in third, Whorton in fourth and Dawsonville, GA’s Spencer Davis in fifth.

Mike Garvey, Mark Day, Hunter Spivey, John Bolen and Andy Johnson rounded out the top ten.

Bobby Terry paced the D & D Events Limited Late Model field for the first three laps, when a serious crash in turn four involving Greg Gresham, Jeffrey Belt and Zach Johnson red flagged the event. Terry assumed the lead again after the restart, leading one more lap before giving way to points leader Allen Carter. Carter paced the field to lap 14, when Michael House took command of the field and led the rest of the way.

However, the post-race inspection process resulted in House’s shocks being claimed under the claim rule. House declined the rule and forfeited his win. The second place finisher, John Earheart was declared the winner of the event, followed by Carter, Terry and fourth place, Paul Nogradi, Jr., who was making his first start at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. Danny Wilkinson came home in fifth.

The Open Wheel Modifieds returned to Nashville for the first time this season on the high banked 5/8th mile oval. Alabama driver Jim Wall out paced Parker Pugh for the win. Billy Melvin finished second, with Pugh third, John Thomas fourth and Phillip Price fifth.

Jeffrey Belt followed in second. Thomas Pannell finished in third, with Tommy Climer fourth and Billy Schaffer in fifth.

Billy Williams took early command of the Super Street feature, and would hold the top spot until lap 16, when Carl Porter moved up to battle with Williams and Matt Barnes. Porter ended up spinning between turns three and four. Porter was hit by Roger Merritt, ending the night for both drivers. On the restart, Barnes made the charge to take the lead, Barnes and Williams continued the battle for the final six laps, with Barnes coming away with the win. Williams was second, with Tink Jackson third, Jeremy Newman fourth and Jim Jordan fifth.

Tommy Climer won the quarter mile Open Wheel Modified feature. Clint Ivey finished second, with Chris Wagner third, Jeff Letson fourth and David Brown fifth.

Matt Adams moved to the top spot and led the last 13 laps to score his first win of the 2014 season. Steve Barnes, Tyler Cordell, Brian Woodard and Willie Coats rounded out the top five.

The USA Motor & Machine Pro Mod division had the largest field for the season, as 11 drivers competed in the event. Ryan Arms led the first five laps until Jerry Fitzgerald made the move to take the lead on lap six. Fitzgerald held the top spot until lap 12, when Arms motored his way past for three laps, then suddenly exited to pit road due to brake problems. Fitzgerald retook the lead and led the rest of the win for his first win of the season. Buddy Williams finished second, followed by Richard Hamilton in third, Lesley Best in fourth and Charlie Dickens in fifth.

Jeffrey Taylor led the Pest Doctor Front Runner field to green. Travis Owens would lead lap one and led until lap eight when a caution involving Joshua Stephens slowed the action. On the restart, Jason Taylor assumed the lead for six laps. Jason Taylor was passed for the lead on lap 15 by Jeffrey Taylor who led to the finish for his third win of the season. Jason Taylor finished second, with Steve Taylor third, Travis Owens in fourth and Hardy Krantz in fifth.
